Fleur Cardinale 2009 is a rich and plush Saint-Émilion with sweet bramble and blackberry fruit. They had very low yields in the vineyard this year leading to a much lower production of more concentrated wine. This is very much a 'modern style' red with no hard edges and excellent balance: it harnesses the huge ripeness of the vintage without veering into over-ripeness. The result is a wine with lovely ripe, soft-textured tannins on the palate and a pure, perfumed nose. Great potential. Drink 2015-2025.
